High Representative Valentin Inzko today reiterated his severe condemnation of the attack against a police station in Zvornik yesterday evening. He also expressed his condolences to the family of police officer Dragan Đurić and hopes for a speedy recovery of wounded officers Zeljko Gajić i Stevo Milovanović .
The High Representative called on competent authorities, responsible security agencies and judicial institutions to cooperate in conducting a swift and thorough investigation. “I give my support to the law enforcement and security agencies and I am confident that a full investigation into the attack will be conducted.”
The High Representative also appealed for calm and restraint in the wake of the attack. “Everyone should refrain from politicizing this serious event and let the institutions work unhindered. This is not a time for division but rather for the institutions and the citizens in BiH to come together and fight the grave challenges ahead, such as consequences of this mindless attack in Zvornik.”
