In the run up to the second Constituent Session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, the OHR wou1d like to point again to the following paragraph in the Contact Group Statement given in Washington on 8th January 1998:

The Bonn Peace Implementation Council has invited the High Representative "to establish a process leading to a decision on a new flag and symbols if the parties cannot agree on their own by 31 December 1997".

Minister Lajic and Minister Despotovic, representing their respective Prime Ministers, today signed an agreement between the governments on Co-operation in the field of Mine Action. This meets one of the deadlines set by the Bonn Conference concerning the transfer of responsibility for demining from the UN to the Bosnia and Herzegovina authorities. [...]

The Senior Deputy High Representative, Dr. Hanns Heinrich Schumacher today issued the following statement:

Senior Deputy High Representative, Dr. Hanns Heinrich Schumacher, attended a meeting of the Council of Ministers on 23 December during which the Council was called upon to adopt an interim Customs Tariff Schedule in line with the 20 December deadline set forth in the Bonn Document.

PRESS STATEMENT by the High Representative, Carlos Westendorp Sarajevo, 23 December 1997 The High Representative issued the following statement today; "I acknowledge the intention of President Plavsic to ensure compliance with the RS constitutional timeline by convening the RS Parliamentary session on the 27th of December 1997.

The Bonn Peace Implementation Conference demanded that by 20 December, the competent authorities in BiH, submit to the printer agreed designs for the common currency coupons and announce the time-table for their introduction.

Further to the failure of the Parliamentary Assembly to agree the law on Citizenship, in accordance with the deadline set at Bonn, the High Representative has sent the following letter to the members of the Presidency.
