The Supervisor of Brcko District, Dr. Raffi Gregorian, will attend the burial of some 80 civilian victims of the war from Brcko, that will be held today in Brcko, to pay tribute to the victims, to share the mourning of the families and to express his deep felt condolences. The victims were exhumed last autumn from secondary mass grave in Gorice, which the Supervisor visited shortly after it was uncovered.
The Supervisor notes that OHR, at the direction of the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board (PIC SB), is increasing its efforts to ensure that those responsible for such crimes are brought to justice, especially Radovan Karadzic, Ratko Mladic and all other persons indicted for war crimes by the ICTY. As PDHR, on Monday Dr. Gregorian will brief PIC SB Political Directors on current and upcoming efforts to further improve cooperation with ICTY by local authorities.
