Acting Supervisor of Brcko Gerhard Sontheim today issued a Supervisory Order appointing Mr. Branko Damjanac to the position of Mayor of Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to serve until elections are held for the District Assembly and a Mayor is chosen from that Assembly.
The appointment followed consultations with the political parties on the candidates they had recommended for the position of the Mayor.
The selection process, based on high professional and personal standards, chose a candidate with strong managerial skills, who will reach out to all groups in the District and use his professional knowledge for the benefit of the District.
Mr. Damjanac will undoubtedly prove an asset to the District. He is a graduate economist, an active member of Brcko Finance Commission, the Strategic Development Plan Commission, and a member of the Steering Board of the Brcko District Development Agency (BDDA) He has significant practical experience in the economic development of this region.
Mr. Sontheim congratulates the new Mayor of Brcko on his appointment and expresses his confidence that Mr. Damjanac will perform his duty to serve the Brcko District Community with sincerity, fairness and devotion to the Statute of the District and the interests of all people.
