Principal Deputy High Representative and Brcko District Supervisor Bruce G. Berton commended the Brcko District Government for today’s adoption of the Law on Fiscal Systems, Law on Accounting and Auditing, Law on Foreign Currency Operations and Law on Amendments to the Law on Payment Transactions.
“These financial sector laws represent a crucial tool for the Brcko District authorities in increasing transparency, fighting grey economy and thus also generating revenue that will help improve government services to District citizens. The laws also represent an important contribution to the Brcko District integration into the legal system of BiH but also to the implementation of measures of country-wide importance, such as the exchange of tax payers data among the tax administrations in BiH.” – said Supervisor Bruce G. Berton.
He thanked the District Government and the Finance Directorate for their committed engagement on this matter and added that he expects the Brcko District Assembly to show the same level of engagement and support for the proposed legislation.
