Better future for Mostar

This week, the City of Mostar signed an agreement on joint financing of the reconstruction of destroyed housing units in Mostar with the governments of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Republika Srpska, and with support of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina.  The agreement will direct 12 million KM towards reconstruction in Mostar over the next three years.

“More than any other town in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mostar still bears numerous physical reminders of the war.  As the unification process has helped to lead the City away from the past, so to will these efforts to repair what was destroyed strengthen the citizens’ thoughts towards a better future for Mostar” said Anatoly Viktorov, Deputy High Representative.

The OHR extends its congratulations to Mayor Beslic, the co-signatories of this agreement and to the citizens of the City of Mostar.
