Bachura Appointed Head of OHR Banja Luka, Bennett To Focus On Mostar Issues

High Representative Valentin Inzko has appointed Ambassador Dariusz Karol Bachura of Poland as the new Head of the OHR Office in Banja Luka. Ambassador Bachura will take up his duties on 15 September.

Ambassador Bachura has been Poland’s ambassador in Skopje since November 2007. Previous postings have included Zagreb, Budapest and Ljubljana when these offices handled issues related to Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has extensive experience of diplomatic and security issues in Central and Southeast Europe.

Ambassador Bachura studied in Warsaw, Budapest, Somerville College, Oxford, and also at Stanford University.

Christopher Bennett, the Head of the OHR’s Office in Banja Luka since July 2009 retains his position as Deputy High Representative and will focus on Mostar-related issues.

The High Representative said the appointment of senior figures to these positions is indicative of the OHR’s intention to continue serving the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina by ensuring full implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
