An agreement on coordination and cooperation between the BiH Council of Ministers and the Brcko District was signed in Sarajevo today, by Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers Dr. Dragan Mikerevic and Brcko District Mayor Sinisa Kisic.
The agreement provides for direct coordination and cooperation between the State and the District in all fields, in particular with regard to economy and development, legislation and cooperation with international institutions. It also defines the District’s support for the Budget of BiH Institutions.
The agreement envisages the establishment within the Council of Ministers of a special body for coordination with the Brcko District. The District will designate a representative to this body.
The District is a unit of local self-governance in Bosnia and Herzegovina existing under the sovereignty of the State. Signing of the Agreement represents a major step towards strengthening the relations between the State and the District.
