Following the decision of the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board (PIC SB) to appoint Louis J. Crishock as Acting High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, he today assumed the duties of Acting High Representative, taking over from former High Representative Christian Schmidt.
Acting High Representative Crishock expressed his appreciation for the confidence placed in him by the PIC Steering Board.
“I am honored by the confidence the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board has placed in me. I will carry out this mandate in accordance with the General Framework Agreement for Peace and the authority entrusted to the High Representative. Our focus remains on safeguarding peace and stability, supporting the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and ensuring full respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement and the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Crishock said.
Outgoing High Representative Christian Schmidt congratulated Acting High Representative Crishock and wished him every success in carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to him.
