OHR, UNHCR, OSCE, CRPC and UNMIBH released today the Property Legislation Statistics for the month of July of this year. The overall implementation rate of the Property Laws in BiH has reached 57%. Also in July, the RS reached the 50% benchmark; this means that in most municipalities half or more than half of all claims have been solved.
However strict and accelerated implementation of the property laws is urgently needed in many municipalities. Examples include: Lukavac (32,77%), Vogosca/Ilijas (36,38%), Srebrenik (37,78%), Ilidza/Hadzici (42,52%), Zavidovici (44,09%), and Donji Vakuf (45,72%) in the Federation and Srebrenica (32,50%), Zvornik (35,04%), Visegrad (36,13%), Banja Luka (38,64%), Bosanski/Srpski Brod (39,24%), Rogatica (40,21%), Prijedor (42,80%), Foca/Srbinje(43,56%), and Doboj (47,76%) in Republika Srpska.
To make the “glass full” and to reach full implementation rate, such municipalities, together with the Cantonal and Entity authorities who should support them, will have to demonstrate that they respect the rule of law.
