The Deputy High Representative and Head of OHR South, Jacques Andrieu, will complete his duties in Mostar on 10 May. Ambassador Andrieu is returning to Paris to undertake new responsibilities in the French administration. His successor will be appointed shortly.

“Ambassador Andrieu has made a particularly fruitful contribution during his tenure to the better understanding that now exists between the municipalities and the cantons and the municipalities and the Entities in OHR South’s Area of Responsibility,” the High Representative, Paddy Ashdown said today. “He has been instrumental in maintaining the positive political environment that has been indispensable in keeping up the pace of reform in Herzegovina.”

The Deputy Head of OHR South, Anatoly Viktorov, will serve as Acting Head until Ambassador Andrieu’s successor is announced. The overall implementation of the High Representative’s Decision on the Reunification of the Mostar City Administration will continue to be supervised by the Senior Deputy High Representative, Werner Wnendt, who is the High Representative’s Special Envoy to Mostar. Day to day implementation will continue to be taken forward by the Mostar Implementation Unit.
