News Summary

SDA Main Board decision to dismiss Ganic show party’s totalitarianism – Sejfudin Tokic

“By its decision to dismiss Ejup Ganic and other officials, the SDA Main Board has illustrated its concept of governing and privatizing public duties” BiH Alternative Council of Ministers Chairman Sejfudin Tokic stated in Sarajevo on Sunday. “By not giving any explanations for its moves, the SDA demonstrated totalitarianism known only to the darkest autocracies in Europe.”

EC representatives in BiH regrets Jerkovic statement

The European Commission Mission to BiH regrets the statement made by Alija Izetbegovic’s Advisor Ademir Jerkovic, who said that IC representatives should not have attended the opening ceremony of a border crossing between Bosanska Gradiska and Stara Gradiska. Jerkovic explained his statement by saying that this border crossing was marked with a sign that read “Welcome to the Republic of Srpska” despite the BiH Presidency’s adoption of a law that bans such signs on BiH border crossings. In a press release issued on Sunday, the EC asserted that it respects the decisions of the BiH Presidency, but that it is up to BiH authorities, not the International Community, to ensure the proper marking of border crossings.
