Yugoslavia

At least 11 people have killed during NATO strikes on a bridge in Varvarin, 160 km South of Belgrade, TANJUG reported. During the night, main targets of NATO air strikes were in Belgrade and its vicinity, in the South of Serbia and Kosovo, OBN reporter from Belgrade, Tatjana Stankovic, confirmed.

World – reactions

In Moscow, only two days after Victor Chernomyrdin’s statement that Belgrade had accepted principles of the leading western countries and Russia, a meeting of Russian officials was held. The West is still very cautious regarding Milosevic’s decision. The Belgrade News Agency BETA reported that plan presented by Victor Chernomyrdin differs from the plan presented by the G8. Russian plan includes presence of international troops from neutral countries in Kosovo.

Kosovo – refugees

The International Red Cross announced sending new humanitarian convoys to Kosovo. Albanian authorities said that another five hundred Kosovo refugees had entered Albania. Most of them were in a prison in Smrekovnica near Vucitrn. According to them, another 3,000 Albanians are still captured in this prison.

Topic of TV Info – BiH & EC

A report from the ground regarding preconditions that BiH has to fulfil in order to enter the European Council. By September 1999, Bosnia & Herzegovina has to fulfill eight conditions in order to become a member of the EC. Fulfilling of the conditions is still uncertain.

Reconstruction of police in BiH Federation

A piece on the reconstruction of police forces in BiH and establishment of co-operation with police headquarters of other countries. These are some of the main preconditions for entering the Council of Europe. Another big work is establishment of the joint database.

SFOR

In a report made by the TV SFOR, Gen. Montgomery Meigs said that the attack on SFOR house in Zvornik was an attempt of murder and that action will be undertake as soon as investigation finishes.

Skrobucani / Gorice (Prozor)

Two hundred refugees have returned to Skrobucani and Gorice villages in the Prozor Municipality. Villagers need support in order to reconstruct their houses.

Lovnica (Zepce)

OBN reporter from Zepce, Vanja Elezovic, reports on the process of return in the Lovnica village near Zepce. During the first phase of return, 106 houses of the Croat returnees were reconstructed.

Prijedor

A piece on closing of collective refugee centers in the RS. As from June, UNHCR and WFP stop funding of the collective centers. In the RS, some 6,800 people currently live in the centers. Only in Prijedor, more than 500 people live in centers. OBN reporter from Prijedor, Milena Letic Joves sent her report.

Vozuca (Zavidovici)

A report on return to the Vozuca village in the Zavidovici Municipality and improving of living conditions including reconstruction of the elementary school and opening of a fuel station.

Sarajevo

A report from the Cardiology Clinic in Sarajevo where some hundred operations on open heart have been performed. Most of the operations have been very successful.
