Mostar

SFOR announced that they successfully finished their yesterday’s actions in and around Mostar. The USA Government welcomed the action. Commander of the SFOR Division South East, General Arnold Schwerdorfer, announced details about yesterday’s events. The report was produced by OBN reporters from Mostar, Denis Vila and Mirsad Behram.

This was followed by a report on the establishment of the Board of Women, Victims of Violence, allegedly committed by SFOR yesterday. The Board organised peaceful protests in Mostar due to SFOR‘s action. OBN reporters, Amarildo Gutic and Pejo Gasparevic produced the report on reactions from West Mostar.

Zagreb

Mladen Naletilic Tuta, indicted for war crimes by the Hague Tribunal, was transferred from the jail hospital to a clinic in Zagreb. The decision on handing over Mladen Naletilic Tuta to the Hague Tribunal will be valid when the Minister of Justice sign it.

Kosovo

In Kosovska Mitrovica, SFOR troops clashed with Kosovo Albanians. Four international troops and approximately twenty Kosovo Albanians were injured in the clash. President of the Provisional Kosovo Albanians Government, Hasim Taci, established a political party. The management of the party is consisted of representatives of the ex Kosovo Liberation Army, representatives of the Independent Union of the Pristina University Students and some independent intellectuals. The new party is called the Party of Democratic Prosperity of Kosovo. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Zeljka Lekic.

Nobel Prize It was announced today that the group Nobel Prize for Peace had been awarded to the French non-governmental organisation “Medicins sans frontiers”. The organisation has been active in 70 countries of the world. The organisation has been present in BiH from the early days of war in BiH. A report on the work of this organisation in BiH was produced by OBN reporter, Mirela Pehar.

Banja Luka

Deputy USA President Advisor for the Dayton Peace Agreement Implementation, Ambassador Robert Frovick, visited Banja Luka and Travnik today. The Ambassador met with the RS Government Minister, Novak Kondic. They discussed issues of corruption and self-sustain economy, OBN reporter from Banja Luka, Nedeljka Breberina, confirmed.

Banja Luka

A piece on the failed discussion about reconstruction of the RS Government. The next session of the RS National Assembly had been scheduled for October 28th, OBN reporter from the town, Tatjana Lajsic, confirmed.

The Main Board of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) announced today in Banja Luka that the RS was facing the most serious political crisis to date. The Board accused the Sloga Coalition for being the main generator of the crisis. The SDS suggested election of the new government, OBN reporter from Banja Luka, Valentina Knezevic, confirmed.

The Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in the RS will demand that another condition for potential candidates on the forthcoming elections in BiH is established. According to the Helsinki Board, the candidates should not use property that is not theirs. The report was produced by OBN reporter from Banja Luka, Biljana Arsic.

Brcko

A piece on the meeting between the International Supervisor for Brcko, Robert Farrand, and the BiH Federation Government Prime Minister, Edhem Bicakcic. They talked about return to Brcko, and economic recover of the district. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter from the area, Slobodanka Radojkovic.

Clearing of Mines

The Government of Japan will provide five million and six hundred dollars for the equipment necessary for mine clearing. The equipment is for the BiH Center for Mine Clearing. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter, Sevko Bajic.

BiH Federation

A piece on statistics regarding the life standard in the BiH Federation. It was announced that the average salary in this BiH entity for August was 375 KM.

Zepce

A report on the elementary school in the Zepce Municipality. One hundred and ninety Bosniak pupils in Zepce do not go to school, OBN reporter, Damir Kaletovic, confirmed. Croat pupils attend the school. The main problem are different school programs for Bosniak and Croat children.

Sarajevo

A piece on the official start of the International Theatre Festival “MESS”, today in Sarajevo. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Gordana Frimel.
