Supervisor welcomes determination to fight corruption in Brcko District

The Supervisor for Brcko and Principal Deputy High Representative, Tamir Waser, today welcomed the continued progress made in investigating high-profile corruption cases in Brcko District as a result of the coordinated police action code-named “Bingo” in October 2011.

The Municipal Court in Brcko Monday confirmed indictments against three more persons suspected of corruption and abuse of office.

The Supervisor expressed his support for the determination of District authorities to continue to combat impunity in cases of corruption.

“I am encouraged by the efforts of Brcko institutions to strengthen the rule of law, toughen the fight against corruption in the District and bring high-profile cases to trial. Such efforts, led by local institutions, are essential to the long term stability and effective functioning of Brcko District”, Waser said.
