The High Representative met today with Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Niksic at the Prime Minister’s request, to listen to the Prime Minister’s presentation of the package of laws adopted by the FBiH Government.
The Prime Minister and the High Representative also discussed amendments to the FBiH Law on Ministerial, Governmental and Other Appointments, which would allow institutions of public interest to function and meet their legal obligations even when appointments to those institutions are blocked or delayed, while introducing a mechanism to ensure that office holders do not remain at their posts in perpetuity.
These amendments were adopted by the FBiH Government and should be adopted by the FBiH Parliament as soon as possible, preferably in shortened procedure.
