High Representative Valentin Inzko today welcomed the election of Judge Mirjana Cuckovic to the Vital Interest Panel of the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the FBiH House of Peoples. FBIH House of Representatives elected Judge Cuckovic at its session held in late April.
“The Parliament of the Federation has taken an important step towards ensuring that the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has the capacity to discharge all of its constitutional responsibilities. The High Representative urges all relevant authorities of the Federation to ensure that the pending dispute over the election of Judge Muminovic to the Vital Interest Panel is resolved in the shortest possible timeframe. A fully functional Vital Interest panel of the Constitutional Court is indispensable element of the Federation authority structure, in particular regarding its role in resolving disputes arising in the adoption of decisions by legislatures throughout the Federation”, the High Representative said.
