Report by the SRT correspondent on the bombing (Belgrade, Grdelica, Kursumlija, Beska, Pozega, Smederevo, Novi Sad, Iriski Venac, Ruma, Sremska Mitrovica, Pozarevac, Zitoradje, Glogovac, Prizren)

The citizens of Surdulica, during the air raid sirens, said goodbye today to their fellow- citizens that were killed in the attack on this town, on April 27.

US Congress limited last night the authorizations of the American President Clinton to approve the participation of the ground troops in possible intervention in Kosovo.

Victor Chernomyrdin is due to visit today and tomorrow Rome and Belgrade, and soon after London and Paris.

The Serbian NA Speaker Dragan Tomic talked today with the parliamentary delegation of the RS led by RS NA Speaker Petar Djokic. The meeting was dedicated to the current situation and the activities led aimed at reaching the peaceful solution for Kosovo. The economic cooperation was discussed as well.

The OHR spokesperson Alexandra Stiglmayer condemned today the statement by Haris Silajdzic in which he supported the bombing of the FRY as well as sending of the NATO ground troops, SRNA reports.

Since the beginning of the NATO aggression, the Yugoslav Army has shot down 46 airplanes, 6 helicopters, 8 pilotless aircraft and 182 cruise missiles, and the losses of the Alliance in terms of live forces are not small either, stated the Head of the General Staff of the Yugoslav Army Gen.Col. Dragoljub Ojdanic in an interview given to the Belgrade-based daily “Politika”.

Bulgarian Minister of Defense stated in Sofia today that the missile that had fallen in Gornja Banja belongs to NATO.

NATO bomb that had fallen in Bulgaria was the main topic of today’s NATO press conference held in Brussels. Namie Shea stated that this incident would not endanger the relations between NATO and Bulgaria. Speaking on the political situation in the FRY, Shea said that the interviews given to the foreign media by Milo Djukanovic and some other leaders of the opposition in Serbia testify that the anti-Milosevic mood is growing in the country.

Media in the world report on the inflow of the Sqhuiptar refugees in Macedonia and Albania. Close to 5,000 Albanians left Kosovo and went to Macedonia today, CNN reported. 600 Albanians left Macedonia today and departed to some third country. SKY news reported that armed bandits are intercepting the humanitarian convoys in the north of Albania.

Reactions to the dismissal of Draskovic The President of the Democratic Party from the FRY Zoran Djindjic said that NATO bombing has disabled creating of some effective opposition forces in the country. Biljana Plavsic stated for SRNA that the dismissal of Draskovic represents a ban on the truth. Krajisnik is disappointed with the latest statements by Draskovic and considers his dismissal to be justified. SNSD expresses regrets concerning the dismissal of Draskovic, Bastinac stated. NATO considers dismissal of Draskovic to be an obvious indicator that the President of Yugoslavia cannot tolerate growing dissatisfaction, Reuters reports.

Radisic talked in Banja Luka today with Peter Nicholl, who expressed satisfaction with the use of KM in the RS.

Dodik also received Peter Nicholl. After the meeting, Nicholl held a press conference and spoke about the use of KM in the payment operations in the RS and FBiH.

Doctors’ Consultation of the clinic center in Banja Luka sent the President Poplasen, who was dismissed by the HR on March 5 of this year, to house care.

At today’s meeting of the RS and FBiH Ministers of Interior, respective Sredoje Novic and Mehmed Zilic with the DHR Jacques Klein, it was concluded, inter alia, that the common driving license designed by the OHR corresponds to the standards of the EU and Vienna Convention on Passenger Transportation from ’68 as well all other international standards.

The session of the municipal assembly of Banja Luka, which was supposed to discuss the proposals for dismissal of the president of the Executive Board Nebojsa Radmanovic and secretary of the assembly Slobodan Gavranovic, was interrupted after the discussion on the agenda due to the lack of quorum. The SPRS members left the session.
