News Summary

SNS representative Elez holds press conference

SNS representative in the RS Assembly and member of the SNS Main Board Milica Markovic Elez held a press conference in Bijeljina. Elez stated that Sloga would not give up on the initiative for extraordinary presidential elections if RS Vice-president Mirko Sarovic does not assume presidential duties. Elez welcomes Sarovic’s initiative on assuming presidential duties because it will solve the presidential crisis. By assuming presidential duty, Sarovic will unblock many RS institutions, which would help stabilize the RS.

Jelavic meets with Frowick, Pardew and Miller

BiH Presidency Chairman Ante Jelavic met with BiH anti-corruption team chief Robert Frowick, US Deputy Special Envoy to BiH James Pardew and US Ambassador to BiH Thomas Miller on Monday in Sarajevo. They discussed the return of minorities in Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar, the BiH economy and privatization process. Jelavic pointed out the importance of revising BiH citizenship for foreigners.

SDP BiH holds press conference

An SDP BiH City Board Sarajevo delegation held a press conference on Monday in Trebinje after meeting with Serb refugees from Sarajevo. City Board Sarajevo President Miro Lazovic informed journalists of the problems of Serb refugees from Sarajevo. The SDP BiH is ready to give assistance to everyone who wants to achieve property rights and the right to use property. SDP BiH Main Board Vice-president Tatjana Ljujic Mijatovic and SDP BiH Vice-president Suada Hadzovic pointed out that the party’s priority has been implementation of the Sarajevo Declaration and Annex 7 of the Dayton Peace Agreement. An SDP BiH office will open in Trebinje in the near future.

Seminar on media held in Sarajevo

A five-day seminar on presenting positive messages through the media is being held in Sarajevo, organized by the Luxembourg non-governmental organization ‘Paha’. Representatives of RS media also participated in the seminar. The aim of the seminar is to train journalists to use their influence by presenting positive messages. TV journalists and the founder of the ‘Day Hip Ho Show’ Shamel Parhatko are conducting the seminar.
