Izetbegovic meets with Pardew and Frowick

BiH Presidency member Alija Izetbegovic met with Special US Presidential envoys for Dayton Agreement implementation James Pardew and Robert Frowick. The refugee return process was discussed and it was agreed that thousands of refugees who spontaneously returned to their pre-war homes this year need assistance. The US delegation said that the principle of two-way return should be respected, especially in west Mostar and Banja Luka. Izetbegovic supported the efforts of the US anti-corruption team in investigating the truth regarding the New York Times allegations of corruption in BiH.

Association of Mothers from Srebrenica address letter to Izetbegovic

The Association of Mother’s from Srebrenica and Podrinje addressed an open letter to BiH Presidency Member Alija Izetbegovic letter protesting the fact that state institutions have never seriously taken into consideration the fate of over 10,000 missing persons. They also pointed out that there has been significant manipulation of military documents.

BiH Education Ministry meets with Zenica-Doboj Canton Primary Education Union

The Primary School Education Union warned authorities that the present situation in primary education can no longer be tolerated because it violates the basic conventions of childrens’ rights. This was the reason for the meeting between Zenica-Doboj Canton Primary Schools Union and the Education Ministry. “Schools have to be saved from policy and education workers have to be allowed to do their work according to the ethical and moral norms of their profession” representatives of BiH Education Union stated at the meeting. Zenica-Doboj Canton Primary Schools Union President Mirha Pihura stated that “we do not want either single-nationality schools or single-nationality teachers’ councils in multiethnic environments and we demand renewal of the school verification procedure and a new decision for the re-unification of every school.”
