Sarajevo – CoM discussed the matter of the CoM work at today’s session, but no agreement was achieved. The CoM asked for suggestions from OHR in regard to this matter. CoM agreed about the Memorandum of Understanding between CoM and the Finnish Government. This agreement provides 30 million Finnish Marks and 10 million DEM for water sanitation project.
CoM Co-chairman Silajdzic held talks with the US Ambassador Kauzlarich about draft laws under CoM jurisdiction, above all, laws on privatisation and ownership. Kauzlarich said that some of these will be subjects under discussion during the forthcoming visit to BiH of US Special Envoy Gelbard.
Federation President Soljic and Co-president Ganic also received Kauzlarich’s visit, discussing the issue of the joint police establishment. BiH representatives suggested to the US administration to announce a police expert as an advisor to Federal MUP, in order to improve the MUP effectiveness. Refugee return was also discussed.

Sarajevo – The Federal Government discussed Draft Laws on abandoned real-estate. Refugee Minister Kadic said that this law would not be as effective, because only 52 citizens who were not Serbs had returned to the Serb entity.

Ploce – Although the deadline for the Ploce agreement expired two days ago, the agreement has not been adopted yet. Today’s meeting between the Croatian and BiH authorities was supposed to overcome the current problems, but failed because the Croatian side had several objections to the draft-law made by US experts. BiH Minister for Economy and Foreign Trade Muratovic said that consultations should be held at even higher level.

Sarajevo – After yesterday’s SFOR action, OHR spokesman Bullivant said that as long as Pale TV do not re-organise their editorial board, it will not be re-integrated into SRT network. To all who revolted against SFOR action Bullivant says: “Big boys rule from now on, you have chosen to test the IC unity in a dangerous and tasteless manner. It has been shown now that this unity is complete.” Bullivant added that the IC is ready to take all the actions against obstructive media, no matter how unpleasant they may be. He also said that the SRT editorials use their media as a stratagem in order to prevent the penetration of truth into the people, and to prevent the success of the peace process in BiH.
Russian FA Ministry spokesman said that the SFOR action represents an inappropriate force towards media, in the moment of Serbs consolidation.

Bihac – After a month, the exhumation of the bodies from “Bezdan” mass grave was completed. 87 bodies were exhumed, but only 43 identified so far. The team of experts officially announced that no bodies remained and that the “Bezdan” pit is closed.

Zagreb – Croatian FA Ministry spokesman said that a group of seven Croats indicted for war crimes will surrender voluntarily to the Hague. The Spokesman said that the group, named after BiH town “Vitez” (knight) had seven members who were indicted for war crimes committed in 1993 and 1994.

Washington – US Defence Minister Cohen said that an addiction to the NATO presence in BiH must not be allowed. Cohen specified that this referred equally to humanitarian and other international organisations in BiH, and to people and their political leaders as well. However, Cohen was not opposed to the alliance suggestion for prolonged presence of International troops in BiH. UK Defence Minister Robertson clearly stood for the troops to remain. German Defence Minister Ruhe repeated that Europeans wished not to remain in Bosnia alone, alluding that if Americans left, everyone else would also withdraw.
