Sarajevo

The High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch held a press conference today, announcing imposing of a Law on single passports for all B&H citizens. The decision was made after the Peace Implementation Council session in Brussels, on 27th September. “B&H politicians have not produced any results for their people for months. How they can expect to be re-elected?”, Mr. Petritsch said. The High Representative added that he would not impose a new pension and election laws. Zeljka Lekic produced the report.

The B&H Presidency appointed Martin Raguz as the new Chairman of the B&H Council of Ministers, within the regular rotation.

Sarajevo

The B&H Presidency demanded resignation of the PBS Founding Board, including the International Agent for Property Transfer, John Shearer. The Presidency feels that the reconstruction process is too slow and inefficient. “We should consider the future of RTV B&H employees, as well as the future of OBN”, Alija Izetbegovic’s Adviser, Mirza Hajric said. Member of the PBS Founding Board, Vlatko Menix resigned because, as he said, he feels that the High Representative’s decisions did not provide equality of the two constitutional peoples in the RTV FB&H. The Slovenian Foreign Minister, Alojz Peterle visited Sarajevo, where he met B&H officials. One of the issues they discussed were debts of “Ljubljanska banka” to B&H citizens. The B&H Foreign Minister, Jadranko Prlic emphasised that abolishment of visas would improve relations between B&H and Slovenia. Mr. Peterle pointed out that, due to the Schengen contract, visas could not be abolished. Mr. Peterle also met the High Representative behind closed doors. Slobodan Maksimovic produced the report.

Yugoslavia

Citizens of Yugoslavia organised mass demonstrations, demanding that the Federal Election Commission recognises the election victory of the Democratic Opposition (DOS) and their candidate, Vojislav Kostunica, Adis Saranovic reported.

“Victory of Vojislav Kostunica is seen in Montenegro as the defeat of Milosevic’s regime. Montenegro decided to boycott the elections, because the Yugoslav regime did not see Montenegro as an equal partner. We had to stand against such policy.”, the Montenegrin Foreign Minister, Branko Lukovac said. “We carried out additional security measures in Montenegro, because we do not want to allow another conflict in Montenegro to be provoked”, Mr. Lukovac added. “B&H is our neighbouring country, and we want to develop links with B&H in all respects, and therefore we symbolically opened our mission in B&H today”, Mr. Lukovac said in the end of the interview.

The representatives of the Croatian Assembly accepted the HDZ proposal for replacement of the Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, Ivic Pasalic.

From Monday, 2nd October all B&H citizens will have access to archives of the Agency for Investigation and Documents (AID). AID is legal successor of OZNA, UDBA and the State Security Service. Reported by Amarildo Gutic.

Deadline for division of PTT Sarajevo and HPT Mostar into the Post Office and Telecom (telecommunications) is 31st December. The Federal Government insists that there must be no prolongation of the deadline. Reported by Mirna Sadikovic.

Banja Luka

Owners of Gas Stations in the RS should install measurement machines at the stations by 30th September. According to the RS Ministry of Trade, there will be no prolongation of the deadline.
