A French passenger plane “Concord” crashed near the airport “Charles de Gaulle” in the north part of Paris, two minutes after it had taken off. At least 113 people died. According to unofficial information, engine breakdown caused the accident.
Bijeljina
After protests against evictions, one Bosniac house was burned, and several were stoned in Janja. After last night’s incident, when 7 people were injured, local police and IPTF are patrolling around the area. Bosniacs in Bijeljina live in fear, and the night in the area will be very uncertain. The Head of the Public Security Service, Savo Cvjetanovic said that they would do everything they can in order to prevent further disorder. Reported by Vesna Mladenovic.

There have been no reactions of RS and Federation officials so far after the incident in Janja. The Federation Internal Minister, Mehmed Zilic sent a letter to the RS Internal Minister, Sredoje Novic, demanding that he urgently does everything he can to protect Bosniacs in Janja, and their property. The OHR strongly condemned yesterday’s incidents.
Zvornik
Several shells were fired at a SFOR facility near Zvornik this morning. No one was injured. SFOR and local police are investigating the incident. The report was produced by Sanjin Beciragic and Vedran Persic.
Mostar
The trial of three Bosniac policemen, who were accused of murder of the Serb family Golubovic in July 1992 in Konjic ended today. Miralem Macic, Adem Landzo and Jusuf Potur were found guilty. Macic and Landzo were sentenced to 12 years in prison each, and Potur was sentenced to 9 years in prison. All parties have the right to an appeal before the Federation Supreme Court, within 15 days after proclamation of the sentence. Denis Vila produced the report.

The US Special Envoy, Richard Sclar and a delegation of the International Community Economic Group visited B&H today. The international community is especially worried because of the lack of balance in financing of pension funds. The current budget deficit in the Federation is KM 140 million, and about KM 200 million in the RS. The “Measure that we recommend is to fight against tax evasion. CAFAO estimated that KM 500 million were lost due to tax evasion”, the Head of the IMF Mission in B&H, Bruno de Schaetzen said. Reported by Vedran Persic.

The Chairman of the B&H Presidency, Alija Izetbegovic confirmed his resignation at today’s session. The OSCE and the B&H Presidency presented their proposals for replacement of a Presidency member. The Head of the OSCE Mission in B&H, Robert Barry said that the aim of the decision of the Temporary Election Commission was to overcome the current situation. Ambassador Barry said that the decision could be changed, if the B&H Parliament passes a law, regulating this issue. The B&H Presidency also submitted a legal proposal for replacement of a Presidency member to the B&H Parliament, Damir Kaletovic confirmed.

Delegates of the Federal Parliament discussed the issue of corruption for almost six hours. The House of Representatives rejected the report from the Federal Prosecution, and they sent it for further procedure. They sent the report from the Banking Agency for the Parliamentary procedure. Employees of the company “Zivinice Promet” protested today, demanding replacement of the company management. After replacement of the Union management a month ago, it was discovered that the management was carrying out cash transactions through the Union’s account. Representatives of Kosovo Albanians and Serbs signed a Pact against violence in Washington. The State Department announced that both ethnic groups wanted to fight against violence together.
The Montenegrin President, Milo Dukanovic met the German Foreign Minister, Joscka Fischer today. Dukanovic marked recent changes in the FRY constitution as Milosevic’s provocation.
Negotiators in Camp David are still far from reaching an agreement. Jerusalem remains the biggest problem.

According to the B&H Ministry of refugees, about 28 000 families live in tents at the moment. RS and Federation Associations for refugees need resources in order to help the refugees.
