The one-day ministerial meeting of the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board is in progress in Luxembourg. The rČsumČ of previous activities regarding the implementation of the DPA is being done at the meeting which was opened by the High Representative in BiH, Carlos Westendorp. The goal of the meeting is to review the situation in BiH, the progress which has been made since the Ministerial Conference on BiH held in Bonn in December last year, as well as the tasks which are to be realized in the implementation of the Dayton-Paris Peace Agreement.

The RS President Biljana Plavsic returned today from Germany where she was a honorary guest at the fifth all-Serbs session held in Stuttgart the day before yesterday. On that occasion Serbs from Diaspora expressed their wish to be firmly connected to their homeland. This meeting was the third meeting of the RS President with Serbs from Diaspora in the last month.

A regular air traffic between the RS and Austria was established today by a promotive flight Vienna-Banja Luka. This promotive flight of the Austrian company Tyrolean Airline marked the establishment of the first international line between the RS and the Western Europe. The RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik, RS Minister of Traffic and Communications, Marko Pavic, and Banja Luka Mayor, Djordje Umicevic, met a high Austrian economic delegation that arrived by this plane at Banja Luka Airport. The Deputy High Representative, Jacques Klein and Austrian Ambassador to BiH were present at the airport on this occasion, as well. After the meeting at the Airport, RS government representatives and directors of some Banja Luka companies talked with the members of the Austrian delegation about the possibilities of cooperation since, by opening this airline, the conditions for a better communication i.e. economic cooperation of a higher quality between the RS and Austria are fulfilled.

The Supreme Council of Defense held its session, chaired by the FRY President Slobodan Milosevic, in Belgrade today. The current military-political situation in the region was discussed as well as the situation at the border between the FRY and the Republic of Albania.
