  • RS PM Dodik and the UK Minister for the Balkans Tony Lloyd visited the Rehabilitation Center for Invalids in Srpsko Sarajevo;

Dodik and Lloyd opened gas-heating system in the Rehabilitation Center in Srpsko Sarajevo. The item is followed with statements of Dodik and Lloyd. Dodik says that he is glad for having Lloyd here and stressed that presence of UK Minister for the Balkans clearly shows that there is no discrimination in allocating the aid to the two BiH entities; Lloyd says that the British Government will continue to play the role in improving the life conditions for all the people in both entities.

Lloyd also met the members of BiH CoM. Current issues regarding the implementation of DPA and upcoming Summit of Stability Pact. The two Co-Chairs presented different opinions on hindered implementation of DPA. Silajdzic blamed Serbs for this, unlike Mihajlovic who blamed both sides for the same problem. Regular Session of BiH CoM was held in Sarajevo. Out of 16 items of agenda only 1 was discussed (report on the Central border Commission);

KOSOVO and FRY RELATED NEWS

SRT correspondent from Belgrade ( Draga Grubic) reports on situation in Kosovo, 16 Serb houses burned down in Prizren, Serb refugees.

The RS Market Inspection confiscated 12 trucks loaded with alcoholic beverages in Brcko. Three private companies placed on the market the alcoholic beverages in contravention to the law.

OSCE report claims that minorities throughout BiH are discriminated in the field of working law. OSCE Mission in BiH stresses the need for adoption of working law for the entire country which would ban the discrimination in the field of working relations on any basis and also the need for education about discrimination in this field.

Srebrenica municipality received the certificate issued by OSCE and OHR on implementation of 1997 election results. This certificate abolishes sanctions that stopped any foreign investments in the municipality.

Press conference in Sarajevo: OHR Spokesman said that the High Representative did not suspend the return of Serbs in Drvar. This is a matter of temporary delay caused by frequent attacks of Croat extremists. He added that return of refugees according to the Annex 7 of DPA is not subject to any conditions, however OHR advised DP Associations not to increase returns to Drvar, even though cannot be stopped.

By June 30 1999, 2 618 Bosniaks have returned in the RS. 168 Bosniaks have returned in Banja Luka and 36 000 Bosniaks requested return to Banja Luka. 38 550 Bosniaks live in the RS.- the report of “Merhamet”
