Headlines

  • The BiH Presidency appointed the Central Board for organization of the Summit of Stability Pact;
  • KOSOVO – 2 people killed, 5 injured; Several houses in Pristina burned down;
  • Russia and NATO reached an agreement on participation of Russia in K-for troops;

The BiH Council of Ministers is in charge to nominate the members of Sub-board and to submit the report to the Presidency until the next session. According to the words of Tihomir Begic, the spokesman of the President of BiH Presidency Ante Jelavic, the IC still has not determined the exact date of the Summit of Stability Pact. The BiH Presidency members talked to Clinton’s advisor and to US Secretary for Kosovo, and for implementation of peace, James Robinson on the upcoming Summit of Stability Pact, human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina and economic and political situation in the country. The US Ambassador to BiH Richard Kauzlarich also attended the meeting. Zivko Radisic talked to Finish Ambassador to BiH who promised that Finland, as EU presiding country will assist in organization of Stability Pact Summit in Sarajevo.

KOSOVO and FRY RELATED NEWS

SRT correspondent from Belgrade (Draga Grubic) reports on: incidents in Kosovo, explosion near the Orthodox Church, 165 Serbs, 11 Albanians, 1 Macedonian kidnapped, CNN report on 12 bodies of Albanians found in vicinity of Bela Crkva (in Kosovo)- shot in the occiput. The item is followed by APTN footage of scenes from many towns in Kosovo. The sources used in this report are K-for, CNN, Pristina Center for Peace and Tolerance, The Daily Telegraph.

The following part of the SRT News Report deals with K-for deployment with special emphasis on the deployment of Russian troops and agreement reached between NATO and Russia including the statement of Victor Chernomyrdin, on the occasion of the Bulgarian Government’s decision not to allow Russian plains use Bulgarian air-space:”This is what Bulgarians are like. As soon as they see us they start hugging us, saying “brothers”, but when it comes to serious work, problems start. Let them be, they will still need us in the future.”- SRNA

SRT carried one more news item: Turkish press celebrates the deployment of Turkish troops in Kosovo. Turkish soldiers entered Kosovo once again after losing it in the First Balkan war in 1912. 87 years later “Mehmed”is in Kosovo once again. – SRT quoted the Turkish newspapers “Hurriet” and “Milliet”.

SRT carried the news item on the statement of former head of KVM in Kosovo Polje for “Balkan Info” monthly who said that in the last 5 months of this mission not a single refugee went abroad while there were only a few thousands displaced persons in the province.
