The payment operations between the RS and the FRY will be re-established in the shortest period of time and the exchange rate of the KM and Yugoslav dinar will be formed on the market basis. After the closed session of the RS Government, the RS Information Minister Rajko Vasic stated that tomorrow’s Official Gazette will announce the decree on re-establishment of the payment operations between the RS and the FRY in Yugoslav dinar which was verified at today’s session of the RS Government. The RS Government also adopted the proposal of the Law on cessation of the implementation of the Law on use of the abandoned property and discussed the situation in Milici. According to Vasic, the Government has prepared and will send a letter to the RS President regarding the newly created situation in Milici.

The RS Government issued a press release regarding the statement of the RS President Nikola Poplasen. Due to some unprecise statements of the RS President Nikola Poplasen, the RS Government has authorized the RS Ministry of Information to issue a press release concerning a conflict of the competencies in the Milici case and the statement of the RS President pertaining to the initiative of making an agreement on special relations with the FRY claiming that the Government should do its job and prepare a project and the RS President will later assess if it is good. The press release says that it is necessary to emphasize that the RS Government acted and is acting in accordance with the RS Constitution and laws which precisely regulate the full responsibility of the RS Government to the RS National Assembly and only partly to the RS President since the competencies of the RS President pertaining to the Government are minimal.

Representatives of the Serb Coalition for the RS held a press conference and on that occasion, they called upon the leaders of the parties to find a compromising solution before the RS National Assembly session. The standpoint of the Serb Coalition for the RS is that, according to the percentage of the votes they won, the parties from the RS should form the Government of the National Unity.

The RS Minister of Education Nenad Suzic and the president of the branch trade union of education, science and culture Ranka Misic signed the agreement on stopping of the teachers’ strike since the Government and the Ministry committed themselves to pay all the unpaid salaries to the teachers by January 15 of the next year. The Strike Board of the branch trade union of the railway workers made a decision on stopping the strike until December 21.

News bulletin: The press release from the Cabinet of the RS President: The RS President Nikola Poplasen met in Banja Luka today with the prime minister designate Dragan Kalinic. On that occasion, Kalinic informed the RS President about the results of the consultations held so far regarding the establishment of the RS Government as well as about different attempts of obstructing this procedure which has been performed in accordance with the deadlines and in the ways defined by the RS Constitution and laws. The importance of establishing the Government of all-Serbs Unity was reiterated once again. The readiness of the prime minister designate to fully cooperate with the international community concerning the implementation of the Dayton Agreement was underlined. The President Poplasen gave his full support to this standpoint of the prime minister designate and expressed belief that his work will be successful. The RS Vice-President Mirko Sarovic was present at the meeting as well.
