News Summary

SNSD holds press conference

SNSD Main Board member Stanislav Cadjo stated at a press conference in Banja Luka that the BiH House of Representatives did not discuss the appointment of Tihomir Gligoric as BiH Council of Ministers Chairman because Gligoric did not receive a majority of the House votes. Cadjo believes that the Sloga Coalition wants to concentrate RS authorities into a close circle with the appointment of Gligoric. He added that this shows that the party places its own interests above the interests of the RS. He also believes that the appointment of Gligoric is politically incorrect, because Zivko Radisic was elected to the BiH Presidency as a Sloga member, which is why he should have supported the Sloga candidate. Asked why SNSD members never talked about political irregularities within the SPRS when it was within Sloga, Cadjo said that there was correct cooperation with the SPRS for some time, but that the break occurred due to certain political issues. Cadjo did not want to mention which issues those were, but said that they are already well known. Commenting on the constitution of local RS authorities, Cadjo said that the SNSD made no agreements with the SDS or SDP. Asked whether the SNSD would support the SDS candidate for Banja Luka Mayor, Cadjo said that the SDS would have to look for support from some other parties.

Marceta on incident in Drvar

Reacting to an ONASA report from 8 May, which states that the first attempted eviction in Drvar resulted in a group of Croat refugees attacking Drvar returnees, the President of the Association of Drvar Citizens, Mile Marceta, stated that the latest incident occurred on 28 April. According to Marceta, the neighbors of Dragan Rodic reacted when Rodic entered his house, which was abandoned at the time. Marceta added that all Drvar citizens applied for the return of their apartments or houses, but since there have been no evictions, none of the positively resolved requests were carried out. Marceta pointed out that the HDZ might want the present occupants to remain in Serb houses, but that they are aware that such a thing is not possible.
