News Summary

RS Association of Journalists sends greetings to reporters on 3 May – World Press Freedom Day

The RS Association of Journalists sent greetings to all RS journalists and editors on 3 May, World Press Freedom Day. Association President Branislav Bozic said that journalists in the RS unfortunately do not have a good legal and general ambient to carry out their professional work. In his opinion, two fundamental laws will be needed to reach these goals: a law on free access to information and a law on information. However, he said, even with the atmosphere, as it is, RS journalism is progressing quickly. Bozic believes that such regulations would protect journalism from centers of political, financial and other power. Bozic added that journalists must show maximum professionalism and human solidarity in order to protect themselves and journalism in general. Bozic concludes that only a free and unbiased media can guarantee the democratization of society.
