News Summary:

Slobodan, it is time to leave – Dodik letter to Milosevic (04:30) RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik sent an open letter to incumbent Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic on the eve of Sunday’s elections in Yugoslavia. Dodik says that it is time for Milosevic to leave the post of president. Dodik adds that Serbs from Krajina and Kosovo do not want to remember him any longer and that Serbs in Montenegro want him out. Dodik also says that Serbs in Serbia have turned their backs on Milosevic. He adds that sanctions on Serbia mean nothing to Milosevic, his threats to Montenegrins mean nothing to him, as well as closure of media, arrests in Serbia, draconian laws, etc. Dodik mentioned that Milosevic made his people perish in order to save humanity from the New World Order. He said it is time for Milosevic to draw the line on his reign. The RS Prime Minister added that the Serbs would only remember Milosevic by wars, sanctions, hyperinflation, the loss of Kosovo, and turning Serbs into a refugee tribe living on tractors. Dodik asked Milosevic if Patriarch Pavle could forgive him for the sin of betraying the Serb people. Dodik says that Milosevic can claim all he wants, that 1,400 RS police officers are going to invade Serbia, and that he can accuse Dodik and the RS Government of everything that he has been accusing them of. But what effect do these accusations have on the Serbs, asks Dodik. The RS Prime Minister said that Milosevic made the Serbs live better everywhere, except for in Serbia. “Did anyone tell you that Communism collapsed when you began your speech with ‘Dear Comrades’ at the SPS-JUL rally in Belgrade? Has anyone told you that Russia has better relations with the US than you have with Russia?” “What is the future of people who choose isolation?” Dodik concludes that his wish and the wish of Serbs from the RS would be for Serbia to become a prosperous country and a motherland to all Serbs. “Why that is not so, you know best” Dodik concluded in his letter.
