News Summary

IC representatives support New York Declaration

Representatives of the International Community in BiH remind that the functioning of a sovereign country that will unite all nations and maintain an economy without political influence or corruption are necessary for peace and stability. That is part of the joint press release signed by High Representative Wolfgang Petritsch, Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Robert Barry, UN Envoy to BiH Jacque Klein and SFOR Commander General Ronald Adams. BiH nations must demand that leaders consider that a sovereign country is lawful. The New York Declaration is an encouraging step. The International Community and BiH nations are working together to undo the physical and moral consequences of war, but divisions and ethnic intolerance still exist in BiH.

The Zvornik police deny news reports published in Glas Srpski on 19 November and broadcast by RT RS in the central news at 19:30 regarding a 25,000-DM reward for information on the attack against SFOR in Zvornik in May of 1999. The RS Interior Ministry and Zvornik police have been investigating that crime, but are not offering any reward for information.
