News Summary

SNS Main Board holds session in Banja Luka

The SNS Main Board held a session in Banja Luka. At the session, SNS President Biljana Plavsic and six SNS Vice-presidents resigned from the party. The SNS Main Board did not accept these resignations and said that the SNS would render a decision on the resignations at a SNS Congress to be held at the beginning of June. The outgoing SNS leadership will continue to carry out its duties, SNS spokesperson Ostoja Barasin said. The SNS Main Board refused to support a request of the SNS Executive Board to dismiss SNS Vice-president Jovan Mitrovic. Plavsic and SNS Vice-president Svetozar Mihajlovic walked out of the Main Board session due to this SNS Main Board decision. SNS spokesperson Ostoja Barasin said that Plavsic’s departure did not mean she would be leaving the SNS or the SNS leaderships. The SNS will continue with its work in the Sloga Coalition, said Barasin. He added that the SNS Main Board supports work of the SNS Caucus in the RS National Assembly, as well as the work of SNS ministers in the RS Government. Radomir Trivic was elected the new SNS Secretary General at the Main Board meeting.
