Tuzla – May 25 has become the saddest day in the century long history of the town of Tuzla. Two years ago on 25 May, members of the former Yugoslav Peoples Army and SDS terrorists committed an awful crime against Tuzla’s youth. The aggressor’s grenade, fired from Mount Ozren, killed 71 and wounded 130 citizens, mostly young people who were gathering every evening at a well known spot in the town’s centre. Their families and friends laid flowers on their graves followed by commemoration and other expressions in honour of the tragic event.

Krajisnik reiterated that there are no plans for exchanging this town, and its future lies within the boundaries of the RS. Krajisnik also said that media blockade must be broken by establishment of a local radio and state radio and television which would provide an objective information about all of the interior problems. He appealed to Sipovo residents to be patient because the international community wants to help, but sometimes this takes time. Parmley thanked the RS for organising this visit, adding that all three sides must respect and implement the DPA equally, whereas the international community and the USA in particular will do their best to help.
