Madeleine Albright in Sarajevo, meets with BiH Presidency
“The path BiH is taking is a good one, but the tempo is bad” said BiH President Izetbegovic after a meeting between the BiH Presidency and Madeleine Albright, the US Secretary of State. He added that positive issues mentioned during the meeting were the reconstruction of infrastructure and buildings of public significance in BiH. He also said that some of the shortcomings during the last four years of the implementation of Dayton Agreement were discussed. “We are not happy with the economy and the inheritance we received from the Communist system. We are also not happy with the return process, even though a lot has been done regarding this issue” Izetbegovic said. Madeleine Albright said “the US and Croatia have agreed that, starting from today, all requests for an approval for security assistance to BiH Federation will be transmitted through the Standing Committee on Military Matters.”
