News Summary

Croatian Government announces end to cooperation with Silajdzic

The Croatian Government announced that their state institutions will cease all forms of cooperation with Co-chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers Haris Silajdzic due to his claims of Croatian leadership responsibility for the Croat-Bosniak conflict in BiH. The Government sees Silajdzic’s claims as unfounded and irresponsible insinuations, saying that his private views should not influence relations between the two countries in any way. Croatia wants the two sovereign and friendly states to keep strengthening and developing cooperation in the spirit of signed agreements and joint strategic aims to approach European and transatlantic integration, as well as the Stability Pact. The Croatian Government welcomes the decision of the BiH Council of Ministers to distance itself from Silajdzic’s statement in its desire for the continued reinforcement of BiH-Croatian relations.
