Mandzic requests IC assistance for continuation of work of Srebrenica Municipal Assembly
After the sixth session of the Srebrenica Municipal Assembly, it was clear that the main problematic issues were upgrading housing units in the municipality and a location for the construction of a memorial to Srebrenica victims. Potocari was not discussed as such a location at that sixth session, nor will it be discussed on Tuesday, because the continuation of the session was postponed due to the temporary interruption of work by Serb representatives. The fifth anniversary of the Srebrenica tragedy is nearing and a decision on the construction of a memorial center in Potocari should be brought in accordance with historical events, historical places and the interests of the families of victims. Head of Srebrenica Municipality Nesib Mandzic stated that the situation is additionally complicated by obstructions of the work of the multiethnic administration. Mandzic expects the OHR and OSCE to react with certain measures and bring some sense to the counselors.
