After the meeting with the Presidency and the CoM, HR Westendorp told the press that main issues of today’s meeting was political situation in the country and in the region. Westendorp said that the present situation in the neighbouring country also leaves certain economic consequences behind, such is cessation of trading relations with FRY. Westendorp also added that there are also political implications, because some extremists are attempting to destabilise situation in the RS. The situation in the Federation was also discussed, as well as the necessity of fight against terrorism and illegal economy. One of the main issues was also the upcoming donors’ conference, and conditions the donors demand in order hold the conference. Two decisions were also made – the Presidency approved the state budget for the amount of 200.000.000 KM, and the agreement was also reached on cessation of implementation of the special agreement between BiH and Republic of Croatia, regarding customs exemptions for goods imported from Croatia.

Military actions of Yugoslav Army in Kosovo continued. OSCE monitors reported that inflow of Kosovar refugees to Albania has decreased in the past 24 hours. Podgorica-based independent agency “Montenafax” reported that Yugoslav Army members blocked the only border crossing between Montenegro and Croatia – Debeli Brijeg. Podgorica media reported that Yugoslav authorities demanded from the Montenegrin authorities to put the police under military control. Heaviest NATO strikes since beginning of the campaign, conducted last night resulted in one fatality and several wounded persons in Nis. Belgrade, Kragujevac, Aleksinac and the satellite station in Ivanjica were also NATO targets last night.

Federation Parliament House of Representatives continued its session started last week. One of the items on the agenda was also the draft Law on Federal Television, but the law was not discussed. The session will continue tomorrow.

Presidency member Izetbegovic met with Croatian Ambassador to BiH, Zoric, discussing the Ploce port issues and free transfer through Neum, as components of the Agreement on Special Relations between BiH and Croatia.

BiH FA Minister Prlic met with SFOR Commander, General Meigs, and discussed the present situation in BiH in the view of the crisis in Yugoslavia.

Association of Banja Luka citizens, Refugees in Zenica and refugees from Zvornik municipality supported Westendorp’s decision on annulment of permanent permits issued for apartments during and after the war.
