News Summary
Recently arrested police officer Mile Knezevic from Bosanski Petrovac found not guilty
Regarding refugee return and the establishment of multiethnic police in BiH, Bosanski Petrovac can be considered the example. The first police officer that returned to work with multiethnic police one year ago was Mile Knezevic. Citizens and colleagues received Mile very well, but this idealistic return was interrupted for a short time. Mile was accused of killing a civilian in Ripac in 1994 and other war crimes. Upon issuance of an indictment, Mile was arrested and held in prison, but returned to work two days after being found not guilty. Deeply disappointed by the charges, and claiming that he is not guilty, Mile considers the main problem to be envy of his return to the multiethnic police. He emphasized that he previously had similar problems with colleagues that do not want to return. He stated that it is true that, on that day, a group of scouts hanged Dolic Mustafa in Ripac. He also stated that he is ready to testify against members of the group that committed this crime in Ripac, saying that he knows the background of the event.
