Multi-ethnicity only solution for BiH – Petritsch
“Refugee returns are a strategic IC priority in BiH” said High Representative Wolfgang Petritsch at a session of the BiH Intellectuals Circle 99. Other priorities include economic reforms and straightening of BiH institutions. “The IC wants the administration to implement the Property Law” continued Petritsch. “Returns to smaller towns are more complex. The IC is aware that BiH citizens are facing the opposition of moral and legal issues. It is necessary to reserve the right to return. Unresolved refuge returns and property issues may poison the future of BiH, which needs to be avoided at all cost.” He emphasized that only BiH can change the Dayton Agreement with a parliamentary majority and through compromise. “Time is running out, and political games must stop” added Petritsch. BiH met only seven of the 40 conditions for EU membership, four of which Petritsch imposed. “The greatest problem is the lack of political will. BiH must abandon the ethnic concept for a civil one, multi-ethnicity being the only solution for BiH.”

Brcko Government preparing conditions for permanent government
The elections on 8 April will not be held in the Brcko District, as the transitional government needs to renew the economy, infrastructure, legislation and privatization before a permanent government can be established. All officials are invited to join the IC in fulfilling these tasks.
