News Summary

ICG wants to provoke another crisis in BiH – SDS

The SDS condemned a recent statement made by ICG Director James Lion, who supported the cantonization of all of BiH and referred to the RS as an artificial and temporary creation. “It seems that the task of the ICG in BiH is not implementation of the Dayton Agreement, but to provoke another crisis here” reads an SDS press release issued on Saturday.

Farrand asks for changes to Brcko Housing Commission for abuse of position

The Brcko Multiethnic Housing Commission, one of the most important institutions for the Brcko District according to Brcko Supervisor Robert Farrand, performs its duties with assistance from three teams of investigators in the field. Ambassador Farrand recently asked that the members of one of the teams be replaced for abusing their position and overstepping their authorizations. Nevertheless, review of the case shows that more than 90% of their work was valid, while the rest is to be reprocessed. The Commission continues to perform its activities in evicting illegal tenants in Brcko, mostly those with dual occupancy and those who sold their houses and now occupy the house of a refugee.
