The women from Srebrenica marked another 11th July, the day of their expulsion from Srebrenica and the tragedy of Bosniac population from the city. They gathered in front of UN Mission offices to Sarajevo and organized peaceful demonstrations. They also submitted protests letters to the High Representative, and the UN Secretary General, demanding that the truth about their missing sons and husbands be revealed. “We believe that the UN Security Council was the most responsible for what was done to Bosniac population in the safe haven of Srebrenica. In this way we want to demonstrate to both domestic and the international community that there must be no forgetting…and that the guilty ones must be punished”, Abdulrahman Malkic, in charge of the peaceful protestations, said.

Will Stability Pact bring changes into the countries of the region? Will it further bring changes in the Dayton Peace Agreement? Co-Chair of BiH Ministerial Council Haris Silajdzic told TV BiH “the Stability Pact will lead to accelerated implementation of the Peace Agreement… as well as to its further build-up”. It will help Bosnia europeanize. But, Silajdzic added, “we must not legalize the results of genocide in Bosnia. Some current processes are not bringing Bosnia closer to, but are taking it further away from the Europe”.

Spanish High Representative in BiH has paid his tribute to implementation of peace in BiH. Time will tell what were the effects of his mandate. Tomorrow at the session of the Peace Implementation Council in Brussels he will hand over his duties to his successor Austrian diplomat Wolfgang Petritsch. Zekerijah Smajic reports from Brussels for the TV BiH. “In June 1997 when he took the High Representative position from Swede Carl Bildt, Carlos Westendorp, a close friend of Javier Solana, said that the key precondition for implementation of peace in Bosnia is arrest of indicted war criminals Karadzic and Mladic… But, two years after the indicted war criminals remain at large. This is Westendorp’s main failure”.
