BiH’s lawsuit against SCG will be hard to prove – BiH Presidency member Covic

BHT, FTV, Oslobodjenje pg 2 ‘BiH’s lawsuit against SCG will be hard to prove’, Dnevni Avaz pg 8, ONASA – Croat member of the BIH Presidency Dragan Covic said that BiH’s lawsuit against Serbia and Montenegro for aggression and genocide before the International Court of Justice in The Hague would be “hard to prove.” Speaking in a program of the Republika Srpska Radio Television (RTRS) on Friday, Covic said that many negotiators and lawyers are included in resolving of this issue. He added that Croatia‘s lawsuit against Serbia and Montenegro would also be “hard to prove.”

SD: Del Ponte to go ‘soft’ on Croatia

Slobodna Dalmacija, front pg splash and pg 3 ‘Del Ponte ‘softer’ towards Croatia’, by Vuk Djuricic – SD’s ‘reliable sources close to the ICTY’ reveal that the report of the Chief ICTY Prosecutor, Carla del Ponte, about the cooperation between Croatia and ICTY that she is to present to the UN Security Council on November 23, will be much more favourable for Croatia than del Ponte’s earlier reports that she had presented to the EU Ministerial Council and NATO. Apparently, del Ponte has changed her opinion after a BiH Croat, Miroslav Bralo AKA Cicko, turned himself in to SFOR, because it was the Croatian intelligence that detected him in BiH, and after Croatian authorities informed del Ponte about their activities related to tracking down of general Ante Gotovina.

According to unofficial information, he will be appearing before the Tribunal early next week to enter plea. DL notes that a senior (anonymous) Croat official from BiH claims that the surrender of Bralo means that the list of BiH Croats wanted by the ICTY is now completed.

Status conference on Prlic and others on November 24

Dnevni List, pg 4, mentioned on front, ‘Status conference at end of November’, by Jurislav Petrovic – The status conference in the case of 6 Croats from BiH (Jadranko Prlic, Slobodan Praljak, Bruno Stojic, Milivoj Petkovic, Valentin Coric and Berislav Pusic) will be held on November 24, confirms Prlic’s lawyer Zelimir Par. The six Croats, who are on pre-trial release, are charged with crimes against Bosniaks committed on the HVO-controlled territories during the war.

RS POWs welcome publishing of Srebrenica report

RTRS – RS POW Association welcomed publishing of the Srebrenica report. However, Association maintains that the verification of the report by the RS Government was too early. Association believes that it is absurd to include victims in the report that were soldiers who were killed during the war and who committed monstrous crimes over Serbs in Srebrenica and other areas. Association is asking ICTY to raise indictments for crimes committed over Serbs and is asking international community to impose Commissions for investigation of war crimes committed over Serbs in Sarajevo , Posavina and municipalities of West Krajina region.

DL argues Safet Halilovic will not be removed

Dnevni List, pg 2 ‘Endless games’, by Fazlija Hebibovic – Commenting on the recent events regarding the resignation of Chairman of BiH Council of Ministers, Adnan Terzic, and reports that suggest that the leader of SBiH and BiH Minister of Civil Affairs, Safet Halilovic, will be removed soon, the author argues that Halilovic will not be removed and that Terzic is very much aware of it. Otherwise, BiH would find itself in a deep crises, it would block the FBiH Government and lead to blockade pertaining to adoption of several key laws in BiH. Hebibovic says it is about a case of endless games and a proof that the current authorities cannot find the way out of the economic-social crisis.
