Sarajevo
Council of the Canton Court in Sarajevo continued the court proceeding today. The ex Governor of “Narodna banka BiH”, the Vice Governor, Enver Backovic and the Director of the Foreign Exchange Department, Zuhdija Fetahovic, have been accused of correspondent relations with the Promdei Bank from Zagreb in 1996 and 1997 without proper documentation and normal bank procedure, damaging “Narodna banka BiH” to the amount of 13,5 million DEM. The ex Governor said that he was not informed about that. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Amarildo Gutic.
Tuzla
Due to new requests of defence of the ex Tuzla Prime Minister, Hazim Vikalo, the court proceeding in the, so called “Tuzla case”, was postponed, OBN reporter from the area, Muhamed Berbic, confirmed. Previous request of the defense for the trial to continue in Mostar was rejected. The trial will continue in seven days time.
Sarajevo
A report on the forthcoming municipality elections in April next year and registration of political parties, independent candidates and coalitions followed. At the beginning of November, Provisional Election Commission confirmed the registration of 76 political parties and 17 independent candidates. The final decision on seven coalitions which submitted their applications for the registration will be announced on November 23rd. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter, Vedran Persic.
Banja Luka
This was followed by a report on the registration of coalitions for the elections in the RS. Currently, seven political coalitions of smaller political parties have been registered in the RS. None of the well-known coalitions have registered and political parties will candidate themselves independently. OBN reporter from Banja Luka, Valentina Knezevic, produced the report.
Guest of TV INFO
Germany celebrates the 10th anniversary of the break down of the Berlin wall. Because of that, guest of TV INFO was the German Ambassador in BiH, Hans Jochen Peters. The Ambassador explained to OBN viewers how he felt on that day and what that meant for his country. Also, the Ambassador discussed the possible future role of Yugoslavia in the Stability Pact for the South East Europe.
Sarajevo
The BiH Presidency could not reach an agreement on the draft law on the state border office today. The representatives could not reach an agreement on the election draft law either. Citizens of the Republic of Croatia will be able to vote in Croatian embassy and consular departments in BiH on the forthcoming parliamentary elections, OBN reporter Bakir Hadziomerovic, confirmed.
This was followed by a report on the session of the Representative House of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly held today. The Representative House agreed that they would give answers to the recent indirect accusations made by the Russian Federation that the training of terrorists for Chechenia has been going on currently in BiH. The Representative House of the BiH Federation adopted a document from OHR on the strategy for the fight against corruption in BiH. The basics of the strategy for the fight against corruption will be police reform, revision of crime law and protection of state borders, OBN reporter, Anes Alic, confirmed.
Belgrade
A report on students’ protests in Belgrade. They demanded the dismissal of Slobodan Milosevic and the extraordinary elections. In the meantime, the Serbian Parliament held its session. Police prevented students by force from approaching the Serbian Parliament building. The session of the Parliament will be continued tomorrow. Berlin
The 10th anniversary of break down of the wall was celebrated today in Berlin. A number of leaders from all over the world, among whom were those who were directly involved in the process, gathered in order to celebrate breaking of the border between the East and West part of Germany. The report was produced by OBN journalist, Zeljka Lekic.
Brussels
The President of the Hague Tribunal, Gabrielle Kirk McDonald, addressing the General Assembly of the UN, said that the fact that Karadzic, Mladic and Milosevic were still free, was mocking the International Community. The report on this from Brussels was produced for OBN by Mirko Klarin.
Last night, the High Representative in BiH, Wolfgang Petritsch, also addressed the General Assembly. He emphasised the importance of the recently approved property laws, the new election draft law and the functioning of joint institutions in BiH.
Mostar
A piece on the decision made by the Bosniak representatives of the Neretva Canton, the town of Mostar and Mostar municipalities to freeze their relations with the regional office of the High representative in Mostar. The direct cause for this was that the Bosniak representatives asked, and this was supported by the OHR, for the Mostar Grammar School to be opened for all pupils, regardless of their ethnic background.
