There have been some announcements that the German concern “Volkswagen” could break up their contract with the local company, Unis Holding. The management of “Unis Holding” claim that the Sarajevo car factory will not be close. Last year, only 5% of the export plan activities were implemented. The German partner asks for the revision of the entire production. Workers of the factory blame the management for this. Some 1,100 worker of the factory currently do not work and wait what will happen next. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Damir Kaletovic.
This was followed by a report on the fraud made by three foreigners who presented themselves as representatives of the European Commission and offered a credit worth five million dollars to a local company. The company was asked to pay 80,000 DEM for the administrative costs. The name of the company has not been announced because the investigation is going on. Zagreb
A report on the submitting of nine applications for the presidential elections in Croatia, scheduled for January 24th. The applications, including signatures of citizens for each of the candidates, were submitted last night at midnight. The HDZ party candidate is Mate Granic. The Coalition the winner of the parliamentary elections, nominated Drazen Budisa. The four opposition parties nominated Stipe Mesic. According to the general opinion, these three have the biggest chances in the elections. Beside parties’ candidates, three independent candidates submitted their applications as well. A report on Chechenia was presented. Russian troops continued with the bombing of Chechenia and military efforts to take the center of Grozny. Agencies reported on the great loses of Russian troops and the resist of the Chechen soldiers. In Jerusalem, the ex Russian President, Boris Yeltsin, said that the Russian flag will be in Grozny in a two months time. This was followed by a piece on the bomb explosion at the train station in New Delhi. At least seven people were wounded. This was followed by a report on current events in the Middle East. Tuzla
A report on the Tuzla Canton Assembly session which lasted until late last night. The representatives have been discussing who will replace four officials, recently dismissed because of the allegations for the misuse of their authorisations. The representatives of the Canton Assembly could not agree regarding the selection of the Minister of Refugees. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the area, Muhamed Berbic.
Tuzla
This was followed by an exclusive interview with the ex Tuzla Canton Prime Minister, Hazim Vikalo, made by OBN journalist, Mato Djakovic. The ex Prime Minister denied allegations that his Government was corrupted and accused the current BiH Federation President, Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs for the actions against his Government. Hazim Vikalo was a guest of OBN contact programme Telering from Tuzla, broadcast just after last night TV INFO, where he explained the details of the affaire.
Sarajevo (Mostar)
The damage caused by the recent flood was estimated on three million DEM in the town of Mostar and approximately twenty million DEM in the Hercegovina-Neretva Canton. Except a big storm, the cause of the flood has not been officially announced yet. There is possibility that the BiH Federation Government would compensate the damage. The results of the investigation currently going on will be announced on January 28th. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Anes Alic.
