Sarajevo

The BiH Presidency has made the first steps regarding the organisation of the South East European Stability Pact, scheduled for the end of this month in Sarajevo. Today, the US President Advisor visited Sarajevo, and tomorrow the British Defence Minister will visit the capital. OBN journalist, Sanjin Beciragic, produced a report on this.

This was followed by a report on the new credits granted by the World Bank for development of the local authorities, entities’ budgets, reconstruction of the Old Bridge in Mostar and the privatisation process. The credits should efficiently alleviate economic damages in BiH caused by the crisis in the Federal Republic Yugoslavia.

Banja Luka

The first post-war business train in the RS started today between Doboj and Banja Luka. The RS authorities hope the train will be a model for the international lines with Zagreb and Belgrade. The Swedish Railways donated funds for the project.

Zagreb

There were no new details about the murder of the Promdei Bank owner, Ibrahim Dedic, which happened yesterday in Zagreb. The police organised a press conference to satisfy public pressure regarding this enquiry.

Banja Luka

A report on the SDS and Radical Party suggestion to the Sloga Coalition for the establishment of the RS interim government. According to this suggestion, there would be no place for the second strongest political party in the RS – Coalition for Complete and Democratic BiH.

Kosovo

The Commander of NATO for Europe, General Wesley Clark, said that members of the Alliance should not transfer troops from BiH to Kosovo. Today, Russia and NATO reached an agreement on the deployment of Russian troops in Kosovo. Further details of the agreement were not announced. Currently, there are 29,000 troops in Kosovo from 16 countries.

Banja Luka

A report on the unemployment in the RS. According to the statistics, there are more than 150,000 unemployed people in this entity. In March, the production in the “Cajevac” factory stopped due to the crisis in the Federal Republic Yugoslavia. Two thousand people are without jobs.

Sanski Most

A piece on low daily wages in Sanski Most where unemployed people from Zenica used to come to work. However, this year they are faced with a lack of jobs.

World

The US President called India and Pakistan to the peace negotiations on Kashmir. This was followed by reports on a bomb explosion in Istambul and protests in Northern Ireland.

Drvar

A report on the current situation in Drvar where the OHR decided to temporarily stop the return of Serbs for security reasons. Lately, there are frequent incidents between the Croat refugees and Serb returnees.

Mostar

Croatian Democratic Community refused to participate in the BiH Croats Forum scheduled for July 9th by the HDZ in BiH President, Ante Jelavic. Previously, President of the Croat People Council, Ivo Komsic, and author Ivan Lovrenovic, cancelled their participation.

Radonjici

A report on the return to the Radonjici village in the Travnik Municipality. Croat families returned to the village although their houses were not reconstructed.

Vran Planina

A traditional Catholic mass was held at the foot of the Vran Planina mountain. Thousands of people from Herzegovina, Middle Bosnia and Dalmacia visited this holy place yesterday.

Sport

A report on the World Cup in football for women in the USA was followed by a report on the Latin American Cup matches.

Mines A story on three children from BiH, Jasmin, Selma and Miroslav, victims of mines. The US Humanitarian Fund for Medical Assistant provide money for prosthesis.
