Sarajevo
The Main Prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal, talked today with the BiH Presidency members, during the third day of her visit to BiH. The BiH Presidency members expressed their unconditional willingness for a cooperation with the Tribunal. A whish that all those who were indicted for war crimes be treated according to same principles, applied on all parties. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter from Kiseljak, Vanja Elezovic.
Banja Luka
This was followed by a report on the visit of the Hague Main Prosecutor to the RS. The Prosecutor met with the RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik in Banja Luka and emphasised that the RS had to fulfil its obligations towards the Hague Tribunal, OBN reporter from Banja Luka, Tatjana Lajsic, confirmed. At the end of this month, the RS Prime Minister will visit the Hague in order to finish the talks.
Foca / Srbinje
A new police station of IPTF was opened in Foca today. Some one hundred inhabitants demolished the old one on January 10th this year and five international police officers were injured. On that day, SFOR killed Dragan Gagovic who was indicted for war crimes and did not want to hand over himself. After that, the incident occurred. Nineteen IPTF police officers will be on duty around the clock in Foca as from today. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter, Vedran Persic.
Sarajevo
The BiH Presidency held its session today. Only one issue was at today’s agenda: establishment of the border police in BiH. Members of the Presidency signed a statement about the establishment of the border police on June 24th. The conclusion was that the suggestion made by the Deputy High Representative in BiH about the establishment of the border police could be adopted only at the next session because there were some issues in the suggestion the Presidency members could not agree upon. This was followed by a report on the session of the BiH Permanent Military Committee held in Sarajevo today. The Committee adopted a concept of security policy and agreed a method for the decrease of the BiH military contingent. Deadline for decrease of BiH military is December 31st, OBN reporter, Damir Kaletovic, confirmed.
Banja Luka
The President of the Serb People Association, Biljana Plavsic, said that she has been threatened recently. She added that the same people who initiated attack on the “Nezavisne novine” Editor-in-chief, Zeljko Kopanja, were initiating similar incidents in the RS. Biljana Plavsic did not give any other details.
Istanbul
Turkish press announced that Mehrez Amdouni, associate of the well-known terrorist Bin-Ladin, arrested at Istanbul airport on Septembre 9th with BiH passport, would be handed over to Italy. Mehrez Amdouni allegedly arrived in Turkey in order to kill the Italian Foreign Minister who was had been visiting Turkey at that time. Strasbourg
At the Political Committee session of the EC Parliament held in Strasbourg, it was said that BiH was one step closer to the membership in the Council of Europe. However, still there are four main tasks that BiH officials have to fulfil in order to accepted to the Council – improvement of the joint institutions functioning, improvement of the Human Rights Council functioning, establishment of the professional and independent judiciary and taking out offensive materials from school textbooks. Zagreb
The High Representative of the International Community in BiH, Wolfgang Petritsch, visited Zagreb today. The most important issues that the High Representative discussed with the Croatian officials were possibilities for voting of BiH Croats on the forthcoming elections in the Republic of Croatia and re-transmission of the HRT programming in BiH, Branko Galic confirmed from Zagreb for OBN.

Russian Army opened border crossing for refugees from Chechenia where 10,000 people have been waiting several days to enter the neighbouring country. France and the UK solved the misunderstanding about cancelling of embargo on the import of beef from the UK. This was followed by reports on difficult humanitarian situation in India after the recent cyclone, and finding of both black boxes from the crashed Egypt Air Boeing 767 by the US marine. The plane had technical problems with one of the engines before the crash. The report was produced by OBN journalist, Gordana Frimel.
The US Administration decided to cancel sanctions imposed on Serbia as soon as free elections were held. This was announced by the US State Secretary after the meeting with the Serbian opposition in Washington. This was followed by a report on the first day of the monetary sovereignty in Montenegro. Montenegro introduced German mark as a parallel currency of payment. OBN reporter from Podgorica, Olja Bulatovic, confirmed. UN announced that one police officer of the UN and one Kosovo Albanian, member of the recently established Kosovo Police were injured in an attack made by a group of people in the Serb part of Kosovska Mitrovica.
