Priorities for future work of the B&H Presidency and Council of Ministers will be adoption of the Election Law, economic reform, passing of 5 laws for establishment of court authorities in B&H and a law on state service, etc. They especially emphasised the need for implementation of several documents adopted by the International Community and the B&H Presidency, such as the New York Declaration. The B&H Constitutional Court continued their discussion on harmonising entity constitutions with the B&H Constitution. The main theme was the situation of the three nations in B&H. Representatives of the RS Assembly participated in the discussion. The report was produced by Slobodan Maksimovic.

Banja Luka

The RS Assembly discussed the RS Government’s work at today’s session. The RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik concluded that Government’s aims were completely implemented. The SDS and CD Coalition were not satisfied with the Government’s work. “It is impossible to accept the Government’s report, because it is the report on destruction of the RS”, said the SDS member, Dragan Kalinic. The High Representative suspended the application of the Republika Srpska (RS) Law on the Privatisation of State Owned Flats, because several provisions of the law were not in accordance with the Annex 7 of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

The B&H and RS Unions discussed tomorrow’s general warning strike of all workers in the RS. The RS Science Union and Union of Energetics are opposed to the strike, Milorad Milojevic confirmed.

World

The UN Mission in Kosovo and the Serb National Council signed a Memorandum on understanding.

The European Co-ordinator for Foreign Affairs, Chris Patten arrived in Kosovo, in order to deliver equipment from the EU for reconstruction of telecommunications and water supply system in the province.

The US Secretary General said that the US want Milosevic to appear before the ICTY. “He is the last obstacle for the democratisation process in the Balkans”, Ms Albright said.

Delegates of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution, according to which the idea on suspension of the Russian membership of the Council becomes ineffective.

Potocari

Representatives of authorities and the International Community met today in Srebrenica, in order to find a solution for the construction of a memorial centre and graveyard in Potocari. “The OHR feels that the issue should be solved by a joint commission of Serbs and Bosniacs”, said Chris Bird, the OHR Spokesman. Srbac was defined as a border crossing in an annex of a Contract on border crossings between B&H and Croatia from1997. However, the crossing wasn’t opened so far, despite a constant correspondence between authority representatives from the two countries. Cvijeta Kovacevic produced the report.

Mostar

Only 1% of food in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton is controlled. In the beginning of the year, 180 analyses were carried out. 13% of food was incorrect. Citizens are warned to pay attention to the food quality. Reported by Dubravka Vojinovic.

The announced stoppage of gas inflow did not take place today. Prices of gas have always increased after such announcements so far. Most of large consumers announced that they would pay debts to the Russian gas exporter. OBN reporter Anes Alic produced the report.
