Yugoslavia

Nis was most hit in NATO strikes against Yugoslavia during last night. Great Britain said that the Yugoslav Army was demoralized. NATO troops reinforcement arrived to Macedonia.

NATO / Kosovo – reactions

NATO Summit in Washington has adopted Declaration of Kosovo. Members of the Alliance were decisive to continue NATO air campaign against Yugoslavia, whether Milosevic would not comply to international community conditions. At the same time, Special Russian Envoy for Balkan, Victor Chernomyrdin, was sure that political decision was possible.

Kosovo refugees in Macedonia

More than 170.000 Kosovo refugees were placed in Macedonia. Twenty five thousand of them were replaced in different parts of this country. Fifty one thousand of them were in camps. The Macedonian Government was sure that there was number of unregistered Kosovo refugees.

Central Bosnia

As it was confirmed from the Interior Ministry of Central-Bosnia Canton, NATO airplanes broke out the sound barrier above Central Bosnia this morning. The result was strong explosion which disturbed citizens of Sarajevo, Zenica and other towns in the region.

President of BiH Presidency, Zivko Radisic, expressed his bitterness about escalation of strikes against Yugoslavia, especially Belgrade.

Media in Montenegro and Banja Luka

The Podgorica Weekly “Monitor” and radio stations, “Antena M” and “Free Montenegro” asked Government of Montenegro to prevent them from acts against freedom of speech. Such request was caused by an attempt of Military Police to bring charges against editors Miodrag Perovic and Nebojsa Redzic at Military Court.

As expression of sympathy with journalists from Yugoslavia, all TV and radio stations in Banja Luka stopped the broadcasting of their programs for five minutes.

Cameraman of the private French TV station TF1 and Croatian journalist Antun Masle from “Globus” were convicted in Montenegro for 30 days in prison. They were accused for entering territory of Yugoslavia without permission and appropriate documents on 20. April 1999.

Doboj

Members of Doboj Syndicate, 350 of them, went to Belgrade to support citizens of Yugoslavia.

Vitez

Middle-Bosnia Canton’s Croatians held peaceful public meeting against Hague Tribunal decision to charge their fellow townsman for war crimes.

Banja Luka

In the interview for Alternative TV Banja Luka the Republika Srpska Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik, spoke about reconstruction of the Government RS and election for new Government members as an solution of defining the President of Republika Srpska. When he was asked by journalist about part of Alija Izetbegovic’s speech at Main Board Assembly of SDA Party referring to the state in Republika Srpska, he said that he was not care at all about his opinion on this issue. Dodik also said that he has never asked questions about Federation BiH and it would be better for Izetbegovic to take care about people in Federation BiH.

Republika Srpska

Inflation of Yugoslav Dinar was noticed in Republika Srpska, so price for bread increased. This would influence already low level of standard of living.

Zenica

Miners in Zenica are in very hard situation, which is complicated by the fact they are represented by two sorts of Syndicate. The question is who really work for miner’s interest?

Doboj

Returnees to Doboj hardly work on mass return to this town. Also, Humanitarian Organisation “Worldvision” and about 200 families returned to the region.

Fojnica

The return was announced in the village Tjesilo by Memorandum of understanding between Middle-Bosnia Canton and American Agency for Development. This Memorandum included infrastructural reconstruction in Tjesilo.

Mostar

About 50 Bosniak and Croatian families returned to Doljani and Sovice near Jablanica. Rebuilding process of their houses is ongoing.

Sarajevo

Some members of both Houses of BiH Parliament, the Assembly of Republika Srpska, and the Federal House of Peoples have met today in Sarajevo to established The Forum of Members of Parliaments. This was opportunity to compare work of Parliaments in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1990 to the current work of Parliaments.

Mostar

About a million mines have been registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina. One third out of that number was found in the Republika Srpska. Since November 1998. up to now about 265 mines were found and destroyed in Republika Srpska.

In the last year about 5 million meters of ground were demined and costs for this were 20 million dollars.
