Prijedor
The Federation President, Ejup Ganic visited Prijedor for the first time. He also met Serb returnees in Sanski Most, as well as Bosniacs who returned to their homes in Stari Grad, Kozarac, Trnopolje and Hambarine. Reported by Milena Letic-Joves.

According to the Association of Refugees, more than 28 000 refugee families live in tents at the moment. They live in a very difficult conditions. If they do not receive aid before winter, their fate will be very uncertain. Reported by Sevko Bajic.
Brcko
A project of building of additional storeys started in the Brcko District recently. 162 flats are currently being constructed. Only Serbs were privileged to get flats under favourable conditions so far. The Transitory Assembly in the District decided to stop the process until certain law regulations are passed. G8 leaders warned that the International Community must not recognise results of any elections in FRY, after the recent Constitutional changes in this country. The Russian President, Vladimir Putin said that he was ready to contribute joint efforts in preventing violence between Serbia and Montenegro. G8 leaders are worried because of unstable fuel prices. They also discussed other current world problems.
There was no progress in the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations in Camp David.

The Chairman of the B&H Presidency, Alija Izetbegovic announced his withdrawal on 12th October. A law regulating the issue of replacement of Presidency members has not been adopted yet in B&H. The B&H Parliament should discuss proposals for solving this issue in their first session in September. The report was produced by Damir Kaletovic.

NATO delegation visited B&H last week. Vedran Persic interviewed the delegation leader, Peter Zumklai. “Priority of the International Community is construction of civil institutions here. The army issue is not so important at the moment”, Mr. Zumklai said.
Banja Luka
The RS Defence Minister, Manojlo Milovanovic rejected the idea of formation of a joint B&H Army. According to him, the existence of two armies is not an obstacle for B&H membership of the Council of Europe. Mr. Milovanovic feels that it is necessary to provide loans for officers in the RS Army, in order to enable them to construct flats for themselves.
Glamoc
HVO carried out a military exercise in Glamoc. This was the first time since cancellation of the programme “Equip and Train” for the Croat part of the B&H Army.
Banja Luka
The 3rd International Summer Festival will be opened this evening in Banja Luka. The Festival will last 7 days, and 11 countries will participate in it. The Festival programme will be performed at the famous fortress “Kastel” in Banja Luka.
