Sarajevo

A report on the decision of the High Representative in BiH, Wolfgang Petritsch, to cancel the appointment of the BiH Federation Minister of Justice and the Minister of Internal Affairs due to disrespect of the official procedure for new appointments. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Adis Saranovic.

This was followed by a piece on the announcement from the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs and Communications regarding the arrest of Mehrez Amdouni, at Istanbul airport on September 9th 1999, who had been issued a BiH passport on December 23rd 1997. The Ministry said that if the allegations against Amdouni were true, they would deprive Amdouni his passport due to his disrespect of the BiH Constitution, laws and other regulations. Reactions of the BiH political parties followed.

Today the USA Ambassadors James Pardew, Robert Frowick and Thomas Miller, continued their meetings with BiH officials. The main issues discussed at the meetings were refugee return, economy and military integration, OBN reporter, Bakir Hadziomerovic, confirmed. Tomorrow, Ambassadors Frowick and Pardew will visit Banja Luka and Mostar.

This was followed by a report on the forthcoming establishment of the BiH joint commerce of trade, which will co-ordinate work of the chambers of commerce in both entities. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Amarildo Gutic. This will be another step in the establishment of the joint institutions in BiH.

Banja Luka

Today, the RS Government held a special session behind closed doors in Banja Luka. OBN reporter from the town, Valentina Knezevic, disovered that the press had not received their usual invitations to cover the session. OBN sources unofficially discovered that the RS Government members had discussed the work of the RS ministers and their ministries.

World

A report on the arrival of the first peace troops in East Timor was followed by reports on current events regarding the UN, Russia, Germany, new earthquakes in Turkey and Greece. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Duska Jurisic.

NATO Commander for Europe, General Wesley Clark, arrived today in Kosovo. The deadline for disarmament of the Kosovo Liberation Army was prolonged for 48 hours, OBN journalist, Gordana Frimel, confirmed. This was followed by a report on the current events in Serbia and new protests. Danica Ilic reported for OBN from Belgrade.

Vares

The Croat school “Fra Filip Lastric” in Vares was exempted from the register of the Zenica Doboj Canton elementary schools upon the decision of the Canton Ministry of Education. Today, the school restarted its work because the humanitarian organization “Karitas” provided funds for the continuing of their work, OBN reporter from the area, Ana Drmac, confirmed.

Tuzla

A piece on the meeting held today between the representatives of the canton office for return. They discussed ways to improve the process of return in the Tuzla Canton and how to help returnees live through the forthcoming winter.

Bosanska-Kozarska Dubica

The first thirty families returned to Bosanska Dubica at the end of August and new returnees are coming every day. Now, the returnees need help in order to reconstruct their houses. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the area, Azra Bajric.

Sarajevo

A report on the Week of Fight against Tuberculosis in BiH. The number of people who suffer from this disease increased drastically after the war. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Sevko Bajic.

According to the Agreement about the air space in BiH, the surveillance flights will be done for the fifth time in BiH and representatives from both entities will participate. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Zeljka Lekic.
